About Newark, New Jersey
Newark, NJ, is one of the most populous cities in the United States. It is known for its beautiful cherry trees, bustling airport, and for being home to the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, which hosts many big-name performers each year. As is to be expected for a big city, Newark suffers from a significant amount of pollution and overall poor air quality. This can lead to problems such as asthma or other pulmonary problems. Fortunately, these problems may benefit from various regenerative therapy procedures. If you are living in Newark, NJ and are interested in learning more about our regenerative therapy procedures, please contact us at 844-GET-STEM.
What Is A Stem Cell?
In adults, stem cells are made by a person’s bone marrow, and are able to differentiate into various kinds of cells in the body. However, stem cells can be found in the “products of conception” such as amniotic fluid, placental membrane, Wharton’s Jelly, and umbilical cord tissue and blood. Stem cells have been such a hot topic of conversation since they were discovered because of their ability to differentiate means they have the ability to heal tissues in various parts of the body. In addition, because they are a biologic material that is present in our own bodies, as opposed to a foreign substance, there is a much smaller risk of an allergic reaction.
While the term regenerative medicine seems to be synonymous with stem cells, it is important to note that stem cells are not the only kind of regenerative therapy available to patients. Other biologic materials such as growth factors, cytokines, mRNA, microsomes, secretomes, and exosomes are all believed to play a part in the healing process. The procedures we provide for our R3 Stem Cell patients from Newark utilize all of these materials to achieve the best results possible.
Are R3 Stem Cell Treatments FDA Approved?
In short answer, no. Because the materials used in regenerative medicine are biologics and not drugs, they are regulated; however, they cannot be approved or denied. This means the FDA puts strong regulations on how these biologics can be acquired, processed, stored, and used. R3 Stem Cell abides strictly by all rules put in place by the FDA. We ensure that our labs take great care in handling the material to ensure as many live cells as possible are passed on to our patients. In addition, our labs take great care in ensuring all DNA markings are removed to prevent rejection, and our donors are heavily screened to ensure they are free from disease.
Where Do You Obtain The Biologics?
Our biologics are acquired with great care to ensure the best results possible for our patients. We do not use any embryonic stem cells, which are now illegal in the United States. All our biologic materials are taken from consenting donors who are under the age of 35 and undergoing a scheduled c-section procedure. In most cases, the “products of conception” from which we obtain the necessary biologics are typically discarded. This includes the amniotic fluid, placenta, umbilical cord, and other afterbirth materials. These materials are immediately placed in a sterile container and taken to our lab for further analysis and processing.
What Is PRP Therapy?
PRP therapy stands for platelet-rich plasma therapy. Blood is drawn from a patient and centrifuged for 10 to 15 minutes. During this process, the blood separates into various layers. It is important to note there is a significant difference between stem cell therapy and PRP. When analyzing the PRP biologic, there are very few stem cells present. Therefore, it is great as a regenerative biologic, but it does not work in the same capacity as stem cell therapy. PRP therapy is a very safe procedure because it uses the patient’s own blood, as opposed to acquiring the biologic from an outside source.
What Conditions Can Benefit From Regenerative Therapy?
One of the reasons regenerative therapy is so highly sought after is because it can benefit people suffering from a wide variety of conditions. Whether you have developed breathing concerns after living in the busy Newark city, or whether you are having pain caused by wear and tear and old age, there may be a regenerative therapy procedure that you can benefit from. Some of the ailments that are patients have seen success with are chronic pain, breathing problems, decreased vitality, and fatigue. If you think you may be a candidate, contact us at 844-GET-STEM to learn more about our offerings and to schedule your free consultation visit.
How Long Will Recovery Take?
Recovery from the actual procedure, which is typically an injection, is very quick. Most of our patients are up and walking around on the same day, and resume normal actives within the following couple of days. This is significantly less time than it takes to recovery from surgical intervention, which is also not guaranteed to help. However, it is difficult for us to say how long it will take before you begin feeling positive results. Each person’s body is unique, and therefore, each person’s response to regenerative therapy will vary. Some people are given one injection and begin feeling the results the next day, whereas others receive several injections over months before they begin to feel anything.
Regardless, our main goal here at R3 Stem Cell is to get our patients feeling as good as possible, as soon as possible. Quality of life is our number one goal. We achieve this by ensuring we have a full consultation with each patient before beginning regenerative therapy, so our patients know what to expect, and so we know how to best address their ailments.
