What Is Regenerative Medicine?
Regenerative medicine encompasses any form of therapy that utilizes the body’s healing power to fix itself. The term regenerative is not limited to stem cell therapy, although stem cell therapy tends to be one of the more popular forms of regenerative medicine. In many cases, regenerative medicine is used to treat musculoskeletal injuries that have resulted in chronic pain for the patient. There are many forms of pain management available that act more as “band-aids” versus addressing the underlying problem. The regenerative medicine techniques used on our Glendale, AZ patients aim to address the underlying problem, not merely mask the pain.
This is key to giving our patients a better quality of life free from pain. Regenerative medicine techniques include everything from stem cell therapy to therapies using growth factors, cytokines, and other regenerative products in the body. Typically a combination of these therapies tends to produce the best results.
Many of our patients who come to us from Glendale are curious to know from where we obtain our regenerative therapy products. Ethical concerns initially arose from studies using stem cells harvested from human embryos. R3 does not use stem cells from embryos. All of our stem cells are taken from consenting donors who are under 35 years of age and undergoing a planned c-section.
“Products of conception” such as amniotic fluid, placental membrane, Wharton’s Jelly, and umbilical cord tissue and blood are home to a very high number of stem cells, growth factors, cytokines, and other elements that aid in the regenerative process. The regenerative factors are harvested in a state-of-the-art lab. Once the products are harvested, they are given to our patients, typically, in the form of an injection.
How Much Does Regenerative Therapy Cost in the Glendale Area?
The cost of regenerative therapy will vary for each person. Every patient who walks in the door will have different symptoms, whether that means a different level of pain or a different combination of ailments. In addition, each person is unique in the way he or she responds to therapy. Therefore, what may take one person one visit to begin feeling better; it may take other additional visits.
For this reason, we highly recommend scheduling a free consultation appointment to speak to one of our physicians and determine what the best course of action would be to tackle your specific ailment. Our Glendale, AZ patients have seen great success when working with R3 Stem Cell doctors.
OUR NATIONWIDE CENTERS HAVE COMPLETED OVER 13,000 STEM CELL PROCEDURES.

Will Insurance Cover The Cost Of Regenerative Therapy?
Insurance typically does not cover the cost of regenerative therapy. Regenerative medicine is such a new field of study that insurance has not caught up quite yet. In most cases, it takes insurance companies about 5-10 years to approve a form of treatment after it comes out. Also, pharmaceutical companies are not able to patent “products of conception,” which also makes it very difficult for insurance companies to cover.
In some cases, regenerative therapy may be covered under Worker’s Compensation because it helps gets an employee back to work. However, these cases are rare. While it is unlikely your insurance will cover any form of regenerative therapy regardless of where you get it done, R3 Stem Cell does not want cost to prohibit you from receiving the therapy you need. For this reason, we have set up various financing and payment plans and are willing to work with you so you can enjoy a better quality of life thanks to regenerative medicine.
How Long Until I See Results?
We know all of our patients are eager to see results immediately. In most cases, our patients have tried many other forms of treatment without seeing results. As stated earlier, each patient is unique. Some people respond to regenerative therapy very quickly, whereas others may take longer to see results.
In any case, regenerative therapy typically has quicker results and significantly shorter healing time than its alternative, surgery. Most patients who undergo surgery have at least a six month healing time before they can perform normal activities. In addition, there are many serious risks with surgery, and patients typically need to take time off from work to recover.
With regenerative medicine, patients are typically up and walking the same day and resume normal activities the day after the injection or at least within the first few days. Your provider will discuss activities that you should refrain from to maximize the efficiency of your therapy.
