Stem Cell Therapy in Indonesia from the USA Leader! Treatment in Jakarta. Contact today to set up your consultation.
At R3 Stem Cell, we offer stem cell therapy in Indonesia as part of regenerative medicine for joint and soft tissue pain. Our options include Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) from umbilical cord tissue, plus PRP. Indonesian regulators classify these as research based care, so outcomes vary and cannot be promised.

You feel it on the stairs at the mall. You feel it getting up off the floor. Some mornings the stiffness lasts an hour, and by evening your lower back has joined in. If kneeling for sholat has become something you plan around, you already know how much one joint can shape a whole day.
Painkillers work for a while. Then they work less. Surgery feels like a big step, and the recovery is long.
There is a middle path worth understanding. It is called regenerative medicine, and in Indonesia it is growing quickly.
R3 Stem Cell has supported more than 20,000 patients worldwide through structured regenerative treatment programs. Our Indonesia clinic follows that same standard, giving patients across the archipelago and the wider Southeast Asia region access to internationally benchmarked regenerative protocols delivered locally.
Stem cells, or “sel punca” as most Indonesian patients know them, are cells that can copy themselves and become other kinds of cells. For joint pain, the type used most is Mesenchymal Stem Cells, or MSCs.
Here is the honest version of how they help. MSCs do not build you a brand new cartilage. What the research points to is quieter than that, and still useful. They lower inflammation inside the joint and release signals that help nearby tissue repair itself. Patients often report less pain and easier movement over several months.
Better daily function is the goal. Not a cure.

Three paths, and we will tell you which one fits.
Most people do not know this exists, and it is the single most useful thing on this page.
The Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) publishes a public list of every facility cleared to handle sel punca. At the time of writing it names 21 hospitals, 15 processing laboratories, and 4 cord blood banks. You can read it yourself at keslan.kemkes.go.id.
Two things that list tells you. First, the laboratory that grew your cells should appear on it. Second, full cellular therapies in Indonesia run through a research based care model called “penelitian berbasis pelayanan” carried out at named hospitals. Clinics are limited to local and topical use, such as a knee injection.
So ask any clinic which licensed laboratory supplies their cells. A real answer is a name. Accept ONLY a name.
We work on joints and soft tissue. Knee, hip, shoulder, lower back, neck, hand and wrist, elbow, foot and ankle. Tendon injuries from sport, or from twenty years of the same movement at work. Stiffness that lingers after surgery. We also offer cosmetic stem cell procedures for skin and hair.
Now the part most clinics leave out. We do NOT offer cellular therapy for stroke, Parkinson’s, autism, kidney failure, liver failure or ALS. Some centres in the region do. The evidence is not there yet, and the cost to a family is heavy.
If that is what brought you here, we would rather lose the booking than take the money.
Stem cell procedures at R3 Stem Cell run from about $3,500 to $15,000. Cost depends on how many joints we treat, the cell dose, and whether PRP is added.
Indonesia’s national insurance, BPJS Kesehatan, does not cover this, and most private insurers don’t either. The reason is worth knowing rather than resenting. BPJS pays only for treatment already proven and written into the national standard of care, and regulators still class cellular therapy as research based.
So this is out of pocket. You should hold a written quote before deciding anything. We give you one.
A fair question, and we hear it weekly.
MUI Fatwa No. 51 of 2020 deals directly with stem cell use for treatment. It permits it under conditions, and it rules out cells taken from human embryos. Indonesian law agrees. Sel punca used in this country may not come from embryonic sources, and may not be traded.
The cord tissue behind our UC-MSCs is donated after a healthy delivery, with consent. We will hand you the sourcing paperwork so you can take it to your own ustadz if that brings you peace of mind.
Our clinic Address: Jl. Wolter Monginsidi No.47, RT.1/RW.1, Rw. Bar., Kec. Kby. Baru, Kota Jakarta Selatan, Daerah Khusus Ibukota Jakarta 12180, Indonesia.
Monday to Saturday, 10:00 to 20:00. Closed Sunday.
Kebayoran Baru, so a short drive from Blok M, Senayan or Kuningan.
Here we do joint and soft tissue work: PRP on the same day, and local injections of UC-MSCs from a licensed Indonesian laboratory. That is the scope Indonesian regulations give a clinic, and we stay inside it.
If your case needs more than a local injection, we say so on the call, not after you arrive. Some protocols belong in a hospital running penelitian berbasis pelayanan. Others we handle at our Center of Excellence in Manila, four hours from Jakarta.
So if you searched “stem cell therapy near me” from Jakarta, the answer is an address you can drive to. From Surabaya, Bandung or Denpasar, it is a domestic flight.
A free video consultation comes first, with no obligation. If we believe you are a candidate, you get a written plan and a full quote before you commit. Then you come in.
Nobody should book a procedure off a webpage. Start with a conversation instead.
Tell us where it hurts, what you have already tried, and what you want back. Stairs without stopping halfway. Carrying your grandchild. Sunday badminton.
Our clinical team will tell you honestly whether regenerative medicine suits your case, or whether physiotherapy or an orthopedic surgeon is the smarter move this year. Sometimes it is, and we will say so.
